Dr. Ami Appelbaum is the Chief Scientist and the Chairman of the Board of Israel Innovation Authority. Dr. Appelbaum has more than 36 years’ experience in research, development and senior level management in the field of the Semiconductor. Prior to the current job as Chief Scientist, Dr. Appelbaum served for 22 years at numerous executive positions at KLA Tencor, $15.6B Market Cap and world leader in the business of capital equipment for the semiconductor industry based in the Silicon Valley, CA. His most recent position was Corporate Senior Vice President and president of KLA Tencor Israel. Dr. Appelbaum holds a Doctorate and Master degrees from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa and an Engineering degree from Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheba, all in the field of materials engineering. Dr. Appelbaum is the author and co-author of more than 50 scientific and technical publications, and holds 7 patents in the field of semiconductor equipment and processing.
Yifat Oron is the co-founder and CEO of LeumiTech, Leumi Group's high-tech arm. In the past 6 years, she has built LeumiTech to be the leading banking platform serving Israel's technology sector. Under her leadership, LeumiTech has developed a comprehensive portfolio of high-tech-specific banking products, as well as a strong ecosystem of relationships with leading investors and service providers, to support both startups and growth companies in all their financing needs. Yifat serves as the Head of Leumi's Innovation Committee and a board member at Leumi Partners, Yifat has twenty years of experience working with technology companies. Prior to founding LeumiTech, Yifat was a Partner at Vertex Venture Capital, where she invested in and served as a board member of early-stage technology companies in the Semiconductor, Enterprise Software, Healthcare and Cleantech sectors. Yifat is a sought-after speaker in industry gatherings, and a well-regarded mentor to technology companies at all life-stages, from inception to IPO.Yifat holds an M.B.A. from Tel-Aviv University and a B.Sc. in Economics and Management from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
Chemi Peres is one of Israel’s foremost venture capital and innovation pioneers, serving as Managing General Partner and Co-Founder of Pitango Venture Capital, Israel’s leading Venture Capital Group, with a portfolio of some 230 global hi-tech companies. Mr. Peres serves on the board of directors Pitango Portfolio Companies including Via Transportation, Taboola, Venn, Radwin, Duda and Totango. Since July 2017, he is also a board member at Teva Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded leading global generic drugs company. Chemi has dedicated himself to continuing the legacy of his late father, Ninth President of Israel, Shimon Peres, by fulfilling his vision through leading the implementation of his numerous initiatives and activities in the fields of Peace and Innovation. Chemi is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Peres Center for Peace & Innovation, Israel’s leading non-profit organization, established in 1996 by Shimon Peres. Mr. Peres is highly active in the field of impact investments in Israel. Chemi founded and served as Chairman of Israel Venture Capital Association. Mr. Peres holds a BSc. degree in Industrial Engineering & Management and MBA degree from Tel Aviv University. He served as a pilot in the Israeli Air Force (IAF).
Meir Linzen, Herzog Fox & Neeman's Managing Partner, is regarded as one of Israel’s leading tax experts. Meir heads the firm’s Tax Department, which is the largest and best-known in Israel. He specialises in tax planning for cross-border transactions and has particular expertise in tax issues relating to international mergers and acquisitions in Israel. Meir has unparallelled experience and expertise in advising banks and multinational corporations with regards to their activities in Israel, as well as in advising private clients in their cross-border activities, including international tax and estate planning. Meir is the president of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (IJL) and chairmen of board of governors of Tel Aviv University's faculty of law and is an honorary doctorate (Doctor of Philosophy, PhD honoris causa) by Tel Aviv University.
Jennifer Hewett is the National Affairs Columnist for The Australian Financial Review, Australia’s national financial and political paper. She writes a daily column for page two of the paper focused on business and political issues. Jennifer has been a journalist for more than three decades, working in Canberra, Sydney and the US for major Australian papers owned by News and Fairfax. She also appears regularly on tv and radio. .
